Sam Bennett was last man off and in yellow for the first time in his pro career in Germany today.
As he expected himself, Sam Bennett has slipped from the yellow jersey at the Bayern Rundfahrt stage race in Germany today.
The Bora Argon 18 rider was off last in the 26km TT in the yellow skinsuit of race leader; the first of his cycling career.
Bennett has already won two stages in bunch finishes but today’s test was never going to be to his liking.

Bennett may have lost his yellow jersey but he still looked pretty cool; which is always nice!
He could only manage 79th on the day, some 3:24 behind stage winner Alex Dowsett (Movistar).
Bennett falls to 54th overall, with Dowsett the new race leader by two seconds from Tiago Machado (Katusha).
With just one road stage tomorrow, Bennett's hopes of a good placing overall are now gone, as he said they would be after the TT, which is not his speciality event.
However, with one road stage remaining tomorrow, Bennett is firmly in the hunt for a third stage win. He took the final stage of this race last year.
