VC Glendale said it had partnered with Belfast City Council to run its cyclocross fixture this weekend. It was delighted the event was part of the National Series, with over 300 riders expected to compete across all the races on Sunday.
"This year’s event will incorporate, with the help of the council, a professionally built bridge to cross, sand pits and challenging steps," VC Glendale said. "For the spectators, Falls Park will host a cycling village with local and national businesses setting up stalls, and a child friendly area to ride bikes and play in the park playground. The club envisions the event as an opportunity to introduce newcomers to the sport while also encouraging them to join VC Glendale Cycling Club in 2024."
The National Series this year will feature a range of categories from U14 and U16 - both for girls and boys - as well as a women's series and separate series for men in the junior, senior and Masters categories.
