The Falls GP in Belfast on Sunday, promoted by VC Glendale, marks the end of the Ulster Cyclocross Series for another winter season, with the competition still open at the top.

With 38 points separating the men still in contention and 40 points on offer for the winner, the series could still go to one of four riders.

They are: Barry Kellett (Dromara Cycling Club), Roger Aiken (Team Asea), Graham Boyd (Xmtb McConvey Cycles) and Jason Henry (Unattached).

Taking into account the top seven results for each rider to date - the basis the series will be settled on - Aiken leads with 216 points from Kellett on 203, Boyd on 196 and Henry on 165 points.

In the women's league, Alwynne Shannon of Newry Wheelers has the highest points tally on the basis of the top seven results to date.

She leads by 10 points from Martina Hawkins of Shimna Wheelers, who has 185 points.

Claire Oakley of Xmtb McConvey Cycles is 3rd on 180 points and Kathryn Aiken of Banbridge CC is in 4th, with a tally of 177 points.

The racing circuit for Sunday is located in Falls Park in west Belfast, with all races using the tarmac section at the bottom of the park as the start area.

The senior races then head towards the pavilion and through the tricky section of hedges and across the bridge, before the riders race out onto the open grass section.

The field will then head up onto the grass, with steps to negotiate.

If wet, this area should be muddy meaning only the strongest will be able to ride the sharp steep hill before beginning to traverse back down at 30 degree slope.

There follows another slope to the top of the ridge where the riders can remount and set off along the ridge towards the fast downhill section.

The circuit then crosses back over another bridge to the main park again and into a section along the tree line where the riders will be able to pick up some speed.

The field will then take in the final climb and a likely muddy section back to the tarmac path.

The course will have separate sections for the mountain bike support race and the cyclocross races.
