Junior riders Archie Ryan and Louis Bilyard showed their
class at the Mondello Series last night; riding away from everyone to take a
Zappi Racing 1-2.

Kieran Jackson of Comeragh CC matched them almost all the
way but just ran out of gas near the end. However, he had the consolation of
holding on for a very strong 3rd place.

Ryan and Bilyard – both junior internationals – and Jackson
started the race in the A3 group but broke clear of it.

As a trio they caught the A4s ahead and went through
them; striking out for home very early and holding a one minute gap over the A1
scratch riders.

Even when the scratch group caught all of those ahead,
and when the pace would have been expected to ramp up in the bunch, the three
leaders kept their gap.
