An Posts gunning for results after two-week training block; Downey team leader in Holland

Sean Downey is team leader for An Post-Chainreaction in Holland tomorrow as the team gears up for the Rás

The An Post-Chainreaction team have had a break from racing over the past two weeks but are back in action this weekend with two assignments in Holland. The men in green will be looking for results, having used the last fortnight to put in a training block as they begin their preparations for the An Post Rás just one month away now.

Sean Downey will lead an eight-man team tomorrow at the Arno Wallard Memorial (1.2), while Sam Bennett will hope to replicate last year’s third place result at the Int Ronde van Noord-Holland (1.2).

Manager Kurt Bogaerts believes the riders have clocked up some very valuable training miles over the past few weeks.

“The riders have come back feeling refreshed and are ready to go again so we are looking forward to this weekend’s racing. It’s important that we put in some good performances between now and the Rás, so we can get confidence levels high.”

“I expect two tough races as always this weekend but I believe we are capable of winning both. We took first, third and fifth place at the Int. Ronde van Noord-Holland last year so we will definitely try to replicate that result. We need to ensure we have as many guys as possible up the front in each race and if we do that we are in with a good chance.”
