Following on from their one-two-three on the final stage of the An Post Rás, Sean Kelly’s An Post-Chainreaction team has taken another victory, with former omnium world champion Glenn O’Shea proving quickest in the sprint to the line on yesterday’s second stage of the 2.2 ranked four-day Ronde de l’Oise in Noyon, France.

Having been involved in two earlier escapes, O’Shea went clear with 22 others, including An Post-Chainreaction teammates Ronan McLaughlin and Mark McNally towards the end of yesterday’s stage.

On the final climb, O’Shea infiltrated the final six-man lead group which stayed clear to the line, with the Aussie rider edging the sprint ahead of 2010 winner Steven Tronet (BigMat–Auber 93). That was enough to give him a one second lead overall going into today’s penultimate stage.

“It was a great display by Glenn and he deserves the victory,” said An Post team manager Kurt Bogaerts of yesterday's win.

“It’s not easy crossing over from track to the road. It takes time to adjust but Glenn has worked very hard and I think he’ll take a lot of confidence from this victory. The gap at the top of the GC is so minute that we must continue to go for the stage wins. It is too hard to control with such a small lead, but the team will take a lot of confidence from today and we are in good spirits so we will see”.

O’Shea held onto his slim overall lead on stage three today, Saturday, after some strong riding by the An Post-Chainreaction squad - which also features Sean Downey - during the 190km stage and even managed to gain a further three seconds. Today’s stage was won by Alo Jakin of VC Roeun ahead of Merida’s Breen Vegard and Godrie Stan of Rabobank U23s.
