Roger Aiken has blasted to a clean sweep in the Ulster Cyclocross Series today, Sunday, when he took the seventh and final round in Cookstown and with it the Ulster Cyclocross Championships.

The concluding round of the series doubled as the Ulster title race.

The Banbridge man came home ahead of his team mate Matthew Adair, with David Montgomery of the same club taking third slot. However, because Montgomery is sill a junior rider he was awarded the junior Ulster gold today, rather than the senior bronze.

The senior bronze medal at the Drum Manor Forest course went to Luke Ireland (Unattached).

Behind Montgomery in the junior title race was Christopher McGlinchy (Chain Reaction Cycles), with Stuart Ballantine (Xmtb McConvey Cycles) third.

Claire Oakley (WXC Mountain Bike Team) took the women’s race ahead of Gill Smith (Unattached) and Lisa Millar (Xmtb McConvey Cycles). The vets crown went to Peter McConville (Newry Wheelers) ahead of Johnny Bogues (Phoenix) and Jason Henry (Unattached).

We’ll bring you full results when we have them.
