Aaron Wade just sess off Mark Dowling at the end of the contest in Mondello last night. The 16-year-old is flying at present and his victory on the race track was a very strong one.
Up and coming junior rider Aaron Wade has seen off top A1 riders to take a strong win at the Mondello Series.
The 16-year-old just got the better of Mark Dowling (Unattached), a former Irish criterium champion, in what was a very tight sprint to the line from a breakaway.
JB Murphy (Murphy Surveys Kilcullen) and Dermot Trulock (Holdsworth Pro Cycling) were with them, taking 3rd and 4th respectively.
Wade, who really impressed last night, had started in the A3 group. He was caught by a breakaway of three from the scratch group.
And those four would lead for about half the race. At the finish Wade had too much for the others to contend with.
The Lakeside Wheelers teenager has been in very good form this year. He was selected onto the Irish junior team for the Tour of the North at Easter.
However, last night’s win was his first victory of the season.
