Aaron Wade has taken victory at the latest installment of the Mondello Series in Co Kildare this evening.

The junior rider, who is competing this year with Vitus-Chill-NRPT, was representing Ireland last week at the European Track Championships in Gent, Belgium.

However, he had no problems finding his road legs when he got a run at the line for victory tonight, taking the win from Lucan CRC's Andrew Keogh.

Billie Crosby of Sundrive Track Team was also in the group that sprinted it out for victory, taking 3rd place.

The race was the first time this year that the A1s had not caught all the groups that started before them in the handicapped evemt.

However, two weeks ago when the A1s did make the catch, teenager Wade still took 2nd place.

He also went on to ride in the breakaway at the National Road Championships in Derry, only losing his place up front late in the contest.

This evening he used his track sharpness to good effect in taking what was his third win of the year after the Des Hanlon Memorial and the Lucan GP.
