Young teenage cyclist tragically dies after crash in Co Dublin

A young teenager, who had just completed first year in secondary school, has died after a cycling crash in Co Dublin.

Naoise O’Sullivan, an off-road cyclist, crashed and
suffered fatal injuries on Tuesday though the tragic news of his death has only
just emerged.

The crash occurred in Ticknock, an area in Sandyford in
the foothills of the Dublin Mountains.

His school, Clonkeen College, Blackrock, Co Dublin, has paid tribute to him and explained that some of his school friends were with him at the time of the crash.

“The school has experienced the sudden death of one of
our students. We are deeply saddened by his passing,” Clonkeen College said in
a statement.

“Naoise O’Sullivan, a first-year student in A4, died in a
biking accident in Ticknock on Tuesday 11th August.

“Naoise was a wonderful, bright, and enthusiastic pupil
who will be sorely missed by his classmates and all at Clonkeen College.

“The family thanks the two Clonkeen students who were
with Naoise at the time of the accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with
Naoise’s family and friends.”
