Bradley Wiggins is covering the Tour de France from the back of a race moto on the road with the riders and cavalcade.
Wiggins is offering live updates for Eurosport and at the time of writing he had a close look at the riders in the groups as the race split on the pavé of stage 1.
He offered insight in what teams were riding on the front to try and get back on; what riders looked comfortable and who was under pressure.
Furthermore, he did a couple of interviews with staff in the team cars on the move.
And he had a word with Elia Viviani just after he'd had a natural break in the early part of the stage.
Having roving reporters on the back of motos offering updates is not new in pro cycling coverage. Laurent Jalabert did it for years for French TV.
But to the best of our knowledge this is the first time British Eurosport has had someone offering from-the-road dispatches.
