Well-drilled bike thieves strike quickly on Dublin street | Video

The man on the scooter goes up and down acting as look-out as the second person gets busy with an angle grinder on the bike's lock

This video captures the moment two men working in tandem struck very quickly in the early hours in Dublin to make off with an expensive e-bike.

One of the men can be seen riding up and down the street on a scooter, apparently acting as look-out, while the second person gets to work with an angle grind. He quickly cuts through the hardened steel u-lock; the whole operation carried out in less than one minute.

The incident took place some time between midnight and 4am last Friday on Camden Row in Dublin's south inner city. The bike's owner described herself as "devastated" at discovering her bike gone and the remains of her lock still hanging on the lamppost.

"You don't stand a chance with lads like this with angle grinders, another fella as a lookout on a scooter," she said, adding the footage below had been supplied to her by the staff in Crafty Fox on Camden Row.
