Sam Bennett's brilliant ride at the Tour de France this year has been celebrated in a new TG4 documentary.
The 25-minute doc, which was broadcast on TV on Tuesday evening, can be viewed in full on TG4's player now by following this link. You can also watch the trailer below to whet your appetite.
The show features highlights of the race, during which Bennett took two stage victories; into Île de Ré on stage 10 and into Paris on the final day of the race.
Bennett (30) also became involved in an epic tussle with Peter Sagan (Bora-hansgrohe) for the green jersey, with that battle often proving more entertaining than the fight for yellow.
Supported by his Deceuninck-QuickStep team, including the world's best lead-out man Michael Mørkøv, Bennett got the better of Sagan and broke his run in the points classification.
Sagan had won the green jersey into Paris every year bar one between 2012 and 2019, only missing out in 2017 when he was disqualified from the race after a crash with Mark Cavendish.
The documentary features Bennett being interviewed by TG4, during which he looks back on the race and on his climb to the top of the sport.
While some of the documentary is as Gaeilge, when led by the commentary on the highlights clips, it is otherwise in English. It's well worth a watch.
