Jumbo Visma has suffered a series of set-backs in quick succession on stage 15 of the Tour de France, including yellow jersey Jonas Vingegaard and Tiesj Benoot crashing hard in the same incident.
They fell, with about 70km to go, just minutes after Steven Kruijswijk left the race in an ambulance after crashing and looking like he had broken his collarbone or writs.
Vingegaard could be seen on the road trying to right his bike so he could get going again before a mechanic ran forward from the cars and have him a new bike, enabling the Dane rejoin the peloton. Benoot looked a lot less comfortable as he tried to chase back on.
The loss of Kruijswijk, however, is a massive set-back from the yellow jersey's team as he was such a big asset in the mountains for Vingegaard, especially on the same day the team decided Primož Roglič should abandon.
