Video: Watch Vincenzo Nibali’s incredible save during bad crash

Vincenzo Nibali crash save UAE Tour

Vincenzo Nibali pulls off an incredible crash save as riders fall right beside him and just ahead. Lightening quick instincts, and a bit of luck, kept him upright.

Vincenzo Nibali is one of the best riders in the world and at 34 years old and a 15-year pro, he also knows how to handle his bike.

The Velon on-board footage from stage 4 of the recent UAE Tour shows him pull off an incredible crash save.

With the tightly packed bunch hurtling along, there’s a squeeze in the peloton and riders hit the deck hard.

The first fallers are to Nibali’s immediate left. And it initially looks certain that he’s about to crash too.

He’s bumped hard sideways, both feet coming unclipped. He’s then instantly seated on the top tube as his bike appears to go all over the place.

But somehow he stays upright. Footage of the incident emerged at the time after the stage.
