The confusion on the face of Bradley Wiggins just after he started rowing, and then mistakenly stopped, is clear to see. He became confused by the voice in the background of this video.
Video Bradley Wiggins rowing false start error
Footage of Bradley Wiggins rowing at the indoor British championships yesterday shows just how big his presence at the event was.
As the rowers entered into the centre of the Lee Valley Velodrome to begin, the name of Bradley Wiggins was the one ringing out from the announcer.
He would go on to finish a modest 21st in the heavyweight race. But the false start error captured in the first video below suggests it didn't cost him too much time.
The race annoucer can be heard telling one of the competitors to put their oar down. The 2012 Tour champion thought the annoucement was for him and so stopped rowing.
But he was shouted at from the sidelines. As a result he got going again very quickly; looking a bit confused initially.
"Huge disappointment today," he wrote on social media posts after his race.
"Upon hearing a call in the background, I thought the race had false started. So I put my oar down.
"School boy error but hey we live and learn as my plan was 6.02. Fantastic experience racing with everyone. Will come back 12 months stronger next year."
