Video: Where is he now? Mark Scanlon 1998 World Junior Champ

Like some in this parish, Mark Scanlon (right) may have fewer hairs on his head than before but he looks in great condition.

Here's a great clip for us by the boys over of Global Cycling News about five former legends of the cycling game and what they're doing with their lives right now.

Featured in here is one of our own; Mark Scanlon.

The Sligo man won the junior road race at the World Championships in Holland back in 1998 on his 18th birthday.

He went on to ride for the Rabobank Development Team before spending four seasons with Ag2r and then abandoning cycling in his mid 20s having become disillusioned with the sport.

In this clip, Dan Lloyd gives us a brief run down on Scanlon and what he's doing now.

Also featured are retired riders Andy Hampsten, Kevin Livingston Evgeni Berzin and Michele Bartoli.

Scanlon has recently taken to mountain biking and has ridden in the colours of the Northwest club in his native Sligo where he still lives.
