How far could you wheelie in one hour? This guy has broken a new world record; and it’s very impressive!
Some veteran riders want to win national titles, others just want to get fit or climb a mountain quicker they’ve done before.
But for American man Richard Flanagan, his goal was very different.
He wanted to break the world record for the longest continuous wheelie in an hour and he did it.
And it was very much longer than stickybottle would have expected; 16 miles to precise
That was one mile longer than the previous record. You can watch the video by following this link.
And after setting a new marker in his native Baltimore in May, it has now been officially recognised by Guinness World Records.
"This is the best day of my life," 53-year-old Flanagan said in May, after completing the wheelie ride.
"Everybody should try to get a Guinness World Record."
He’s been popping wheelies since he was a kid but only got serious about it in his 40s.
Flanagan is known in his area as “the wheelie guy” and regularly unofficially broke new records for the furthest wheelie distance in one hour.
Of late he decided to go for the official world record and he’s done it.
