This shocking footage has emerged of the flamme rouge collapsing at the Tour de France and it looks very odd.
Adam Yates quite rightly had his finish time at the Tour de France revised yesterday having been taken out by the flamme rouge with 1km to go.
It meant the Orica-GreenEdge rider started today's stage in 2nd place overall as a result.
He may well move into the yellow jersey in the next day or two once the general classification challenge of current race leader Greg Van Avermaet (BMC) fades; so his upgrading was crucial at the finish yesterday.
Now new footage - recorded from the neutral service motorbike right behind Yates - has emerged showing the awful moment he flies into the huge inflatable flamme rouge as it crashed down on top of him.
However, the speed the red kite came down and fact it collapsed at the very moment Yates was riding under has led to comment online questioning whether somebody at the side of the road had deliberately interfered with the power supply for the inflatable.
And others have suggested that not only was the speed of the arch falling consistent with sabotage rather than a technical issue, but the timing of the fall - just as a rider passed under - looked very strange.
Have a look and see what you think.
This this sabotage?
