
A van driver has presented himself to the police after this shocking footage emerged of a cyclist being knocked from his bike and then assaulted.
However, while the cyclist in question had already reported the matter, he has stopped short of making a criminal complaint.
And despite the seriousness of the incident, it appears it may go no further although a police statement said its "enquiries continue".
The events captured on the cyclist's headcam occurred in the Hornchurch area of London.
The cyclist first tangled with the van at a junction as a refuse lorry turning left slowed both, above.

When the van then passed the cyclist a little further up the road, the cyclist shouted at the driver to get off the phone.
He was then squeezed into the side of the road by the vehicle and fell to the ground, above.
The van driver then got out of the vehicle, below, and appeared to check his van for damage before engaging in a verbal altercation that quickly turned very ugly.

A London Metropolitan Police statement on the matter readers: "On December 8th, 2014, police were made aware of a personal injury collision between a cyclist and a van.
"The incident occurred on December 5th, 2014, in Butts Green Road, Emerson Park, Havering at approximately 11:40hrs.
"No allegation of crime was made and no further action was taken was taken by police.
"On Friday, 16th January, 2015, Havering police became aware of a YouTube video which appeared to show a cyclist being assaulted.
"Havering CID spoke to the cyclist. He informed police that he did not wish to pursue any further allegations.
“On Friday, 16th January a 34-year-old man attended an east London police station and was interviewed under caution. Enquiries continue."
