
Most of the riders came down this steep hill on their backsides and the few that stayed upright were taken out by the "sliders".
The US cyclocross championships take place this some weekend in Hartford, Connecticut, and judging by the scenes at some of the warm up events, things may get very ugly indeed.
The riders taking part in a number of aged-related non-championship races in recent days have really struggled.
And on one of the steep hills in particular more riders descended on their backsides than on their feet or their bikes.
It was all going absolutely fine in the warm up, as the first video below shows.
But by the time some of the races got going the course had been chewed up and the heavens had opened resulting in something of a mud bath.
It was all going grand during practice...
