The truck driver decided he didn't like these (or any) cyclists and because "you're not allowed to run them over" he directed his energies towards them in another way.
The driver of this truck sounds like he’s guilty of behaving like an idiot and it also looks very like he recorded this on his phone while driving.
But is he guilty of a road rage attack as some have suggested?
The incident in the clip below was recorded in Sydney, Australia, in recent days.
The commentary is hostile in the extreme towards the cyclists, with the truck driver taking great delight in timing his drive through a puddle to ensure he soaks the riders as he passes them.
"So, we hate pushbikes," the driver says.
"We're not allowed to run them over. But we can **** with them. Let's have a crack at ****ing with them.
"Yep; up ahead I see a little bit of water. So now's a good time to start the overtaking manoeuvre, I believe."
The cyclists saw the clip online and reported it to the police.
Some people in Australia have labelled it as a road rage attack and called for it to be treated as such by the police.
What do you think?
Much of the comment on social media has been hostile towards the cyclists, questioning why they were in the middle lane and whether they should be riding on what looks like a major road.
However, a BBC correspondent based in Sydney has pointed out the incident occurred near Sydney Airport where cycling is permitted.
He added the cyclists were in the middle lane because all of the traffic in the left lane, where the truck is driving, is just about to be funnelled onto a major freeway where cyclists are not permitted.
So the cyclists have done nothing wrong. But apart from the mobile phone use, do you think this is a police matter?
Let us know what you think.
