As with most other sports, cycling has its transfer market in the off season. Team managers try to build the best squad they can on tight budgets and riders try to find the best opportunities for themselves.
It's a very short career, that of a pro cyclist. And with even the really big names making good money for at most 10 years, the riders really need to get their transfers right.
One bad move could see a rider locked into a nightmare deal in a team where they are not happy and end up wasting a couple of years in that golden decade the lucky ones will have.
With so many teams having been wound up this year - mainly due to the recession in Europe - the transfer market has been tighter than normal.
And any riders who managed to get a start at ProTour or Pro Continental level - with so many quality riders out of contract - have done very well.
Ireland's Sam Bennett has managed that; moving from An Post-Chainreaction to NetApp-Edura for next year. While Philip Deignan moves back to the very top; transferring from Unitedhealthcare to Team Sky.
Some really big names have been on the move in recent weeks.
A number of riders who have broken through in the past couple of years are clearly keen to step out of the shadows of team leaders and become leaders themselves. And they are moving to new teams to launch that phase of their career.
Here's a handy little video outlining some of the biggest transfers so far. Enjoy!
