Video: This could revolutionise cycling (and all urban transport)

When this company put in a bike closet, it's workforce turned to cycling in their droves, as the clip below reveals.

Here’s a great little feel-good story all the way from Australia - see video below - and it’s an important one too.

A company in Perth has created a “bike closet” for its staff members who commute by bike and to encourage others to follow their lead.

GHD Woodhead has provided a lock-up for their employees’ bikes. And then right beside it is a changing room and showers, along with even a laundry room for your kit.

The company says approximately 20 per cent of its 500 staff now cycle to work; that’s more than three times higher than the 6 per cent average for Perth.

If every medium to large sized employer in Ireland provided one of these – and was even giving a tax incentive to do so – image the impact it would have on the numbers commuting by bike.

And undoubtedly that ease congestion, as well as making everyone fitter and healthier in the process, so taking the pressure off the health service.
