The few seasons since the end of the pandemic has thrown up young Irish cycling talent at a rate of knots, and now we have another name to add to that list, Oscar Moran.
The 15-year-old from Goatstown, south Dublin, went to the UEC MTB Youth European Championships in Romania at the weekend, rode up a storm and claimed two bronze medals.
While that was an incredible breakthrough for any young rider, he still has another season to come in the U16 ranks, meaning he will be a contender for the European Youth Olympics next season.

While Moran, who rides for EPIC MTB, performed very strong in all of the races he rode at the Europeans, his two medals came in his first and last events; the TT and the XCO.

Moran was leader in the 2km TT for a long time, over two seconds faster than the next rider, before two late starters - both second-year juniors - finisher strongly for gold and silver.
And in the XCO, over 50 minutes, the young Irish rider led the way solo for a period, before being caught by a select group which he stayed with.
The eventual winner then powered ahead solo, with the silver medal man going clear in the same manner. Moran was then left in a group of four sprinting for bronze, with the Irish rider having too much for his rivals at the last.
