Video: The kitchen in the sky where Sam Bennett dines on the Tour

The Tour de France is a great marketing opportunity for team sponsors, and Sam Bennett's squad has taken things one step forward with a kitchen hoisted high into the sky on a crane each evening.

Sam Bennett's Bora Argon 18 team has left no stone unturned in preparing its riders for this Tour de France.

On the bike, the team has been performing well and though not challenging the overall standings, the riders have been very active every day and have featured in numerous breakaways.

Off the bike, they’re making quite a name for themselves too, with their riders and staff dining in the most bizarre place of all in the evenings.

A specially-designed, glass-panelled container measuring 19 metres in length has been kitted out in the really high spec cooking appliances its sponsor Bora produces.

But that’s not all.

The cooking truck is hoisted up to 30 metres into the air on a crane, with the riders and guests inside. And they all eat up there, as the container sways gently (we hope) in the breeze.

Yes, it sounds like an awful lot of hassle and we sure wouldn’t like to be the man in the controls.

But it has had the desired effect in securing Bora a huge amount of publicity.
