Mount Leinster was not a nice place to be this afternoon and for the An Post Rás na mBan riders who rode up it in this wind - all 800 metres of it, respect!
September is usually a good month in Ireland weather-wise and many riders have voiced their opinion on trying to keep the season going as late as possible to take advantage of it.
But that certainly wasn’t the case on Mount Leinster today as the 111 brave souls who started the An Post Rás na mBan this morning were left battered by wind and soaked by rain.
The third stage was all about the ascent to the finish atop Mount Leinster and all we can do is take our hats off to every rider who pinned on race numbers today and got stuck in.
The fans gathered at the top to welcome home the riders and they must be commended too because conditions were anything but inviting!
Take a look at the wind…
Hat tip to the Team Crescent Dare squad of race leader Rikke Lonne.

Chapeau @RasnamBan riders! Watched or marshaled countless Rás, Tour of Ireland, Nissans on Mt Leinster but never in rain & wind like today.
