Bryan McCrystal just after Kona IronMan

Leading Irish bike ride Bryan McCrystal has gone all soft and emigrated to the dark side with Ironman and all things triathlon.

If you ride the track, this is the kind of strength-speed combination you can build (though it helps to start off with a world class engine too!).

Fernando Gaviria has only just turned 22-years-old but already he's been a gold medal winner in the omnium at the elite World Track Championships.

And yesterday at the end of Paris-Tours he put all his tactical and physical abilities to fantastic use, jumping the peloton with 600m to go just before the sprint began and holding them all off.

The Colombian, who rode his first full year as a pro this year with for Etixx-QuickStep, is somebody we should be hearing a lot more about in the future.
