Sam Bennett, top of image, got the verdict over Alexander Porsev of Team Katusha; this photo finish really hammering home how close it was on the line.
Sam Bennett has added another win to his growing palmares in France today, and the finish photo and video shows just how close it was.
The Irishman was in danger of being overtake to his right by Rudy Barbier (Roubaix Metropole Europeenne) in the final dash to the line of Paris-Bourges.
But while he was holding off the French rider, Russian Alexander Porsev of Team Katusha was also breathing down his neck on the left.
And the photo finish, above, not to mention the videos below reveal the difference between 1st and 2nd was not more than the width of a tyre.
Thankfully Bennett's efforts after the 190km race were rewarded, and he won the race again exactly 12 months after his last victory in the event.
More later.
Another glory day for Bennett
