Sam Bennett emerged fastest in such a close dash to the finish line in Germany; a great way to bounce back after a recent lay-off and missing the World Championships in Norway. He has take six wins this year; his first season as a WorldTour rider.

Irish sprinter Sam Bennett has taken his sixth victory of the season; this time taking Sparkassen Münsterland Giro (UCI 1.HC).
He emerged first to the line just ahead of three other top speedsters; Phil Bauhaus (Sunweb), Andre Greipel (Lotto Soudal), Marcel Kittel (Quick-Step Floors) and Dylan Groenewegen (LottoNL-Jumbo).
Bennett recently suffered a bout of fatigue and sat out a month’s action, including the World Road Championships.
However, while he was simply not ready for the Worlds and unfortunately missed them, for the first time in many years; the rest seems to have done him the world of good.
And he looked absolutely delighted with his win yesterday. The video below is perhaps not from the best angle.
But if we get footage shot from a more conventional viewpoint we’ll include it later.
Previous winners of Sparkassen Münsterland Giro include John Degenkolb last year, Greipel twice, Kittel twice and Tom Boonen in 2015.
