
Cyclists and other road users have been urged to stay away from Sally Gap and the surrounding region in Co Wicklow due to a heavy fall of snow.
The Wicklow Uplands Council pointed out that several
emergency services had urged road users parts of Wicklow’s uplands were
impassable.
"Gardai and the Wicklow, Dublin Mountain Rescue are advising motorists to us caution when driving in the Wicklow Uplands today," it said.
"Heavy falls of snowfalls are being reported throughout many parts of the county this morning, the Sally Gap is impassable."
The Garda also published photographs of Sally Gap covered in snow as a warning to any road users thinking of venturing into the general area, including Wicklow Gap.
"Road users are advised to aware of heavy snowfall in the Sally Gap and Wicklow Gap areas, which are totally impassable. Please avoid these locations."
