Video: Riders' fight at Giro finish; handbags or unacceptable scenes?

Things got physical at the end of the Giro d'Italia stage 3 between these two riders. But did it warrant further action?

When the incident in the clip below got heated at the end of stage 3 of the Giro d’Italia on Sunday, a moto driver stepped in and made sure it went no further.

But the commissaires clearly weren’t impressed, imposing a fine on Alexandre Geniez (FDJ) for his behaviour towards Hubert Dupont (Ag2r-La Mondiale).

Both riders finished the stage well down on winner Marcel Kittel (Etixx-QuickStep).

They finished 105th and 106th, leading in a large group some 1:37 behind on a stage that witnessed a number of crashes.

It was unclear what their row was about at the finish. But Geniez was clearly getting stuck into Dupont, putting his hands on him and man handling him.
