Video: Rider knocks out fan who stepped into road as Tour passes

This fan was stepping into the road as the riders approached and was taken out very hard by George Bennett. Let's hope both are OK.

Just 24 hours after Chris Froome sparked a lot of debate when he smacked a fan running beside him up the last climb of the day on stage 8 of the Tour de France, another rider has collided with a spectator.

George Bennett - the LottoNL-Jumbo riding his first Tour de France - was rounding a bend in the breakaway when a spectator stepped into the road and was completely taken out by the Kiwi.

The rider could do nothing except brace for impact, resulting in the fan being body checked hard.

He fell to the ground and looked as if he had possibly been knocked out. Let's hope both are OK.
