This is one of the most disastrous finishes you'll see at a bike race. He was so shocked at his costly error he crashed at sprint speed, and brought others down.

If there's one thing worse that celebrating too early and being pipped on the line, it's crashing just as you've made an idiot of yourself.

That's exactly what just happened to Sam Rosenholtz in a major event in Massachusetts when he had victory in the bag.

He put his hands up at the end of the Gran Prix of Beverly criterium and was passed by a rival.

And just after he crossed the line in 2nd, and in a state of shock, he crashed. Others also fell as a result of his mishap.

And to cap it all, the race was the Massachusetts state championships, meaning he missed out on a nice title and the $1,000 winner's prize.

All in all it was a bit of a disaster. And as it's been caught on camera he'll never be let live it down.
