Video: Rás ambulance needs pushing up Mamore Gap by fans

When the steep slopes of Mamore Gap took their toll on the Rás ambulance, an army of spectators got pushing....
Mamore Gap in Co Donegal was tackled by the riders of the Rás yesterday. A few men flew up it while others battled hard.
The steep ascent was packed with spectators who had come from all over the country to cheer on the lads
It was just as well there was a good crowd because when the Rás ambulance hit a really steep section it stalled and conked out.
A team of fans swarmed in behind it and got the ambulance going again, much to the delight of all present.
Former racing cyclist Seamus Howard had travelled from Co Meath to be there and he captured the incident on his phone!
The fans put their backs into it
You know it's very steep when even the ambulance needs emergency intervenion!! #Mamore #RAS2017 pic.twitter.com/jtvA3abFZr
