This CCTV at a Chinese takeaway in Rilato, Dublin, captures the moment when a bungling thief has his own bike stolen outside the premises while he is inside.
The clip shows a man arriving outside on a bike, which he leaves on the pavement at the door. He then quickly makes his way inside and jumps up onto the counter, apparently looking for cash.
However, the moment he leaves the bike outside and his back is turned, a child outside moves quickly and makes off with the would-be raider's bike.

However, when she blocks his way the man grabs her very aggressively, as a staff member belatedly appears from behind the counter brandishing a hurley.
Frustratingly the clip ends at that point and so it's not clear how the bizarre chain of events ended.
