Video: Pro rider meets cyclist pulling car tyre for extra training

We've known a few cyclists with spare tyres in our day, but this guy has taken it to a whole new level.

We've seen international running stars - and even some cyclists - using mini parachutes to build up leg strength and even wrote about Alejandro Valverde’s training buddy using one a while back.

But we've never heard of a cyclist dragging something behind them as a training aid, though that's exactly what pro rider Sebastian Lander encountered while getting some miles in.

The One Pro Cycling rider was out for a spin in his native Denmark on Thursday when he caught up with a fellow cyclist who was pulling a tyre off the back of his bike, apparently as a form of resistance training.

He had tied the tyre to the back of his bike with a rope.

The 25-year-old former BMC rider and ex national champion was so taken aback he lingered behind the rider and took this cheeky clip which he has just shared on his Instagram account.

Brings a whole new meaning to 'spare tyre'

When you think you train hard and you see this guy. We don't have climbs in Denmark but we have car tires ?
