A new television documentary on the Rás Tailteann is to be broadcast on TG4 next Wednesday, September 26th – you’ll see the extended trailer below this short piece.

The documentary, which details the colourful history of the race, is also due to be shown at film festivals in Ireland, the UK and Italy.

“Rás Tailteann - Rothaí an tSaoil” will be on TG4 at 9.30pm next Wednesday and will be rebroadcast again at 4.55pm the following Sunday, September 30th.

First run in 1953, the race’s aim was to symbolise the nationalist aspirations of its organisers and promote Irish culture at a time of fierce political and sporting division.
