Here's a couple of great videos of stage 2 of the Tour of California, where Philip Deignan took off on the Tramway 5km finishing climb up to Palm Springs yesterday. He split the lead group apart and while he was overhauled and denied the stage win, he hung on very well for third and is now third overall.
It was arguably the Irishman's best ride since he won a stage in the Vuelta back in 2009. And following on from his overall victory in the Tour of the Gila in New Mexico the week before last, his ride yesterday shows he is back to his very best after a tough couple of seasons where he was hit by illness and poor form.
