Video: Pedestrian pushes female cyclist into path of oncoming traffic

The female cyclist's attacker has been very clearly identified in the clip now going viral; prosecution will likely following his public shaming.

A man who chased after a cyclist in the street and pushed her into the path of oncoming traffic is now being sought after police released head cam footage of the incident.

The attack occurred in London in May, with the Met Police on Tuesday releasing the footage and asking the public for their help in identifying the man.

The cyclist, who was wearing the helmet cam the footage was captured on, called out to the man not to walk off the pavement into the road as she passed.

The footage shows the woman cycling passed him and continuing on her way at Whitechapel, East London.

However, the man can be heard shouting and swearing after her.

He gave chase and caught up with her, pushing her into the road apparently in a rage at being told to remain on the pavement.

The man, who police believe is probably in his early 40s, called her a “mug” as he caught and pushed her at a junction just yards from when the initial exchange took place.

The woman was not struck by any of the vehicles on the road and while upset by what had taken place she did not need medical treatment.

Instead, she took the footage recorded on May 1st to the police, with the force having now released the clip in a bid to solve the crime and in the process publicly shaming the attacker.
