The overhead footage shows just how fast Sam Bennett kicked in the final sprint, coming from a long way back to take 2nd and diving through the gaps between the others around him. In this still Caleb Ewan is leading and in full-flight for the line, with Peter Sagan second. Bennett is seventh - between a Team Sky rider to his left and one of the Lotto-Soudal men on his right.
Sam Bennett may have been denied a first victory of the year in Australia earlier today, but the overhead footage of his finishing kick shows just how fast he is.
The Carrick-on-Suir man came from a long way back and through lots of traffic to fly past everyone but the winner Caleb Ewan (Orica-Scott) in the People's Choice Criterium in Adelaide.
While it looked as though Bennett and his new team mate Peter Sagan may have had a free hand in the sprint to each go for victory, their Bora-Hansgrohe team said the world champion was leading out Bennett.
If you look at the overhead footage of the sprint - from 2:50 in the first video below - you'll initially see Bennett was close to Sagan's back wheel but they got separated.
When Ewan was coming off his lead-out man's wheel and hitting the front, Bennett was eight man on the road.
However, when gaps opened up as the gallop hit peak speed, Bennett showed great skill in diving between his rivals.
The sheer speed of his kick suggested had he and Sagan combined a little bit better, as they hopefully will with a bit of practice, Bennett had the beating of Ewan today.
