Video: Nibali team mate thrown off Giro after mid-stage row with Team Sky
The incident on the way to Mount Etna was clearly caught in this overhead footage from the TV helicopter.
Vincenzo Nibali’s bid to win the Giro d’Italia has suffered a setback. One of his team mates, Javier Moreno, has been disqualified from the race.
The Spanish Bahrain-Merida rider was involved in an incident with Diego Rosa of Team Sky.
TV footage recorded from the helicopter during today’s stage 4 showed Moreno grab Rosa aggressively during the stage.
The race jury has clearly taken a dim view of the incident and Nibali is down a valuable domestique.
Rosa is of course a team mate of Geraint Thomas and Ireland’s Philip Deignan.
