The Suir Valley Three Day witnessed a very dramatic finale in Clonmel today, with yellow jersey Stevie Williams (JLT Condor p/b Rapha) going off course and crashing with about 4km remaining.

Ian Richardson (UCD-Fitzcycles.ie) won the race outright in the final kilometres.

And up the road emerging young Irish rider Darnell Moore (Caldwell Cycles) was clear with Briton Elliott Porter (Neon Velo) and leading into the final corner when he fell hard; his chance of victory gone.

Richardson came around the corner alone as Moore was still on the groud trying to get himself up and going again.

And the UCD-Fitzcycles.ie man very nearly lost his back wheel on the slippy wet road surface.

And when the reduced peloton rounded the last bend a handful of seconds after Richardson; one of the leading riders - who we understand is a junior - fell and seemed to hit the ground very hard.

And no sooner was he down than one of the visitors from Champion System-VCUK Racing crashed at the same spot. He would gather himself quickly but was forced to run up the finishing straight.
