Video: Ryan Mullen's mid-stage 'selfie bomb', other fan bombs into bunch

Ryan Mullen photobombs two fans taking a selfie at the Tour of Britain, while over at the Vuelta a young fan causes chaos.

When the Tour de France visited Yorkshire a couple of years ago, the number of people watching on the roadside  was incredible, with many of them straining to get selfies and drawing criticism from riders.

On the Tour of Britain this week the number of spectators has been staggering and thankfully the number of rider-fan encounters have been kept to a minimum.

Two spectators taking a selfie yesterday got a priceless photo as Ryan Mullen got close-up and gave them a wave at the perfect moment, thankfully without wiping anyone out.

But over at the Vuelta when a young fan tried to get on camera by jumping out from the roadside as the riders passed caused chaos.

The kid looked like he was trying to wave to the passing TV camera but he got carried away and stepped right into the path of Clement Chevrier (IAM Cycling) who was in a chasing group on the Puerto de Tudons climb with just over 40km remaining.

Chevrier came down and the young fan was also sent flying on impact, but thankfully the other riders in the group managed to stay upright. Thankfully Chevrier was able to remount and went on to finish 35th on the stage.
