This driver pulled off a very unusual passing move on the cyclist who recorded the clip, as his video shows. Yet some of the comments online have been critical of the cyclist.
Every time we post a close-pass, or related, clip there’ll always be a few readers who claim we’re encouraging a Motorist Vs Cyclist culture.
But we think highlighting bad driving or cycling is the first step towards improving it.
For example, there would be no move internationally towards close-pass legislation but for the proliferation of bike-mounted cameras and the sharing of close-pass videos online.
And no problem was ever resolved by ignoring it; road user behaviour included.
Usually there’s one party in these clips in the wrong; either the cyclist or the driver.

The clip below is interesting in that it has provoked comments online about both the driving and cycling.
There seems to be universal agreement the driver’s undertaking move is very ill advised; to say the least.
But some of those who’ve left comments have also been critically of the cyclist’s position in the road.
