Video: Martin takes tumble down track as team forgets to hold him

Tony Martin has been on the track doing testing and when he took some time out to have a bit of craic, it wasn't long about going wrong.

He's the world time trial champion and has enjoyed plenty of ups and downs in his career; lots of excellent results but some bad crashes too.

But one place Tony Martin wasn't expecting to end up on his backside was during testing on the velodrome with his new Katusha-Alpecin.

After he'd put his TT bike through its paces in Valencia, he took on a challenge doing the rounds in the team to see who could ride 25o metres quickest on a Canyon commuter bike.

Some of the riders chose to do a track stand start, with no help from anybody holding them up.

When Martin was about to start he assumed one of the staff was behind him ready to hold him in position for the off.

But he soon found he was on his own and went crashing down the track. He seemed fine, if a bit shaken, after the spill.
