Paul Kimmage has said he’ll bring one particular medal from his cycling days with him when he meets Lance Armstrong.
With Lance Armstrong due in Dublin for public interview in the next few days, journalist and former pro rider Paul Kimmage was on Irish TV at the weekend talking about the disgraced American.
Armstrong will be interview at the One Zero sports conference in Dublin by Ewan McKenna on stage.
But a couple of weeks ago he took to Twitter to call-out Kimmage and suggest that he be the one to interview him.
Kimmage retorted that while he would interview at some point, it would not be on stage and under the conditions Armstrong suggested.
He reiterated that attitude on RTE TV on Saturday night when being interviewed by Ray D’Arcy, adding no matter what Armstrong had one in the past he was still a fascinating figure.
Kimmage said when he interviews Armstrong at some point in the future it would be away from the glare of a public event.
And he said if it was at his home in Austin, Texas, where Armstrong’s yellow jerseys from the outright victories in the race he was stripped he would bring his Tour finishers medal to help make a point about how worthless the American’s “achievements” were.
This is good stuff from Kimmage.
This is very good
