Video: Is this cyclist bullying this woman or is he right about her driving?

This woman looked shocked when this cyclist followed her into a supermarket car park and challenged her about her driving. But was he right?

Here’s a clip highlighting the age-old debate about how much room motorists should give cyclists on the road.

In the clip below the cyclist recording on his headcam is passed by a motorist who then turns left into a supermarket just up the road.

The cyclist remonstrates by throwing his arm up in the air but then goes into the supermarket car park looking for the vehicle.

To be fair, both parties remain civil, with the motorist even apologising in an apparent bid to placate the rider, even though she does not feel she did anything wrong.

The cyclist complains he could have been killed because the woman cut across his path too close to him when turning into the car park.

He also complained the woman’s driving was typical of the dangerous manoeuvres cyclists are forced to put up with on the roads.

The Facebook user who posted the clip claims to have contacted the cyclist and received a reply, in which he insisted the video did not do justice to the speed he was travelling at, claiming it was in excess of 25mph.

He said he was forced to brake and if the woman had simply apologised he would have let the matter at that.

But in the circumstances he was within his rights to “have words” with the woman.

“I was pretty shook up when she cut me up,” the cyclist explained.

“I got taken off my bike in a similar accident years ago where the driver did a similar manoeuvre but a build up of traffic stopped him from clearing my path and I smashed into the side of the car.

“My bike was finished and I was in hospital. So before you go off insulting people, ask for the facts, don't just assume."

What do you think? Was it an overreaction to a non incident? Or was this cyclist within his rights to raise the issue in the way he did?
