
This was the scene at the Tour of Morocco, and as the videos below reveal it got a whole lot worse.
The Irish are great for getting around the world and seeing a bit of action and that is certainly the case in the cycling community, with riders and staff working in a huge range of positions in the pro game all over the world.
This week well Sean McNicholl, best known for his work in shepparding many top foreign times around the Rás, is directeur sportif at the Tour of Morocco with the UK Planet X team.
And he’s shared the pretty epic videos below.
They were record on Tuesday’s stage when the riders were battered by high winds and driving rain.
In the clip below, the race can be seen climbing a road with no proper surface.
It was a 30km cat 1 climb the riders were tackling that came in the early part of the 193km stage, with 100km left to battle to the finish in very testing headwinds.

The rain and wind, not to mention the climbs and mist, made for some epic racing.

The lack of road surface and rain meant the riders were caked in mud, leaving the mechanics with a monster job to do on the bikes that night.

This was on a descent; the riders brought to a near halt because of the strength of the breeze.
