Video: Irish rider crashes into media at high speed in US track race

Irish rider Eamon Byrne begins the fall that saw him crash off the track at high speed and into a photographer and race official, as you'll see in the clip below.

The Dublin Thunder team from Ireland enjoyed a fantastic first outing at the inaugural World Cycling League in LA at the weekend.

The new series is based around teams rather than individual riders and will travel the US looking to fund itself via ticket sales, sponsorships and TV deals.

And when the first ever meeting was held in the US at the weekend, the Irish gave as good as they got.

One man who returned home slightly bent out of shape was sprinter Eamon Byrne.

A photograph and official are forced to dive for cover, but luckily there were no serious injuries.

The popular powerhouse did his best to take a few other people out with him.

A photographer and an official counting down the laps were forced to jump over Byrne as he slid along the ground.

He tells us he'll get them the next time (joke - ED)!

Despite falling hard and at high speed Byrne dusted himself down and raced again.
